Traveling in San Francisco This Week

Hello friends! This week I had the chance to visit the beautiful city of San Francisco. San Francisco is a city where the culture thrives throughout its people and its history. The coast is surrounded by multiple islands and thrives with wildlife. The Golden Gate Bridge is a breathtaking structure as it towers above the Pacific waves. We traveled throughout the city over the past five days. San Francisco is known for its amazing Ghiradelli chocolate. As soon as you walk into the Ghiradelli store, you can smell the sweet aroma of the ingredients inside.

The Wharf

Visiting Fisherman’s Wharf, downtown San Francisco, was quite an experience! Seagulls soar through the sky as you smell the salty breeze billowing across the shoreline. Hundreds of sailboats are docked along the piers and stores line the sidewalks. There are a plethora of restaurants. They all looked so inviting that it was hard to choose a specific place to eat. We ended up eating at Aliaoto’s Restaurant, where I ate a perfect dish of chicken parmesan. After our delicious lunch at Aliaoto’s, we decided to take a cable car ride up through the streets of San Francisco. The hills were so steep, and it almost felt as if we were on a miniature rollercoaster!  This was even more fun than the limousine service I used in Las Vegas! The cable car took us from the twisting Lombard Street to China town. We ended our cable car ride at Coit tower, where we caught a three hundred and sixty degree glimpse of San Fran.

The next day, we decided to rent bikes from “Blazing Saddles” and we were able to experience the true beauty of the area. Our biking adventure began at Fisherman’s Wharf and we continued to ride along the pathways near the shoreline. People were walking their dogs and playing catch with their families along the beaches. As we rode closer to the Golden Gate Bridge, we came across Crissy Field, which was a former U.S. Army airfield. Windsocks rustled in the air as we pedaled throughout the field. As we approached the Golden Gate Bridge, we witnessed a few surfers with wet suits near the rocks. The swell was perfect to catch a few amazing waves. We managed to ride up the hill leading to the bridge’s entrance. The bridge was full of locals and tourists who crowded the biking and walking lanes. It was important to capture a photo of the bridge and its surroundings…after all it is what San Francisco is known for.

Our journey continued on the other side of the bridge, where we had to control our bikes by constantly breaking as we sped down the steep hillsides. We continued to bike into Sausalito, where wetlands and hillsides met sailboats and seaplanes. Boutiques and restaurants in this town offered a one of a kind shopping and dining experience. We continued to ride through Muir Woods, which is known for their red wood trees. Muir Woods is known for providing a background for famous movies such as Star Wars and E.T.! We managed to catch a ferry back and sailed underneath the bridge, as well as two miles from Alcatraz. Our trip ended at Pier 39, where sea lions dozed off on man-made floating platforms. San Francisco truly offered a unique and exciting traveling experience. –Until next time!

A Trip To Las Vegas

When I first embarked on my journey to Vegas, I wasn’t quite sure what was in store for me. Everyone hears about how crazy the nightlife is, exciting casino trips, and gorgeous resorts. Las Vegas ended up exceeding my expectations. After arriving at McCarran (sp?), I had already booked my Vegas limo service from airport to hotel, which was amazing.  Sipped a Margarita to the hotel and didn’t have to worry about a thing…awesome.  My trip first began as I checked into Paris Las Vegas. I immediately knew that I was about to have an amazing trip when the room was full of marble and had its own Jacuzzi…I mean have you ever had a Jacuzzi in the middle of your hotel room? Because the sun was shining and it was about ninety degrees outside, I immediately hit the pool. Paris Las Vegas’ pool was full of young and exciting faces and poolside drinks were served every minute of the day. Volleyball competitions were often held in the shallow pool, while others sipped on their margaritas and floated on rafts.

Pool at Las Vegas Paris

As the day quickly rolled by, it was time to transition to the Las Vegas strip. Casinos and resorts line this area of Vegas and it is often where the most action happens. As I entered the casino, money was flying everywhere as peopled gambled with the hopes that they would win the jackpot. Fortunately, I won $500.00 in the slot machines!

The next day I discovered a fantastic Italian restaurant, which was called Carbone Italian Restaurant. I had the perfect dish of chicken alfredo and their merlot was exquisite. It was that night when I decided to explore Caesar’s Palace. I managed to see Celine Dion in concert and it was epic! The next night I went back to Caesar’s Palace and enjoyed Cirque Du Solei’s Mystere show from the second row. Half way through the performance, I was called up on stage by an acrobat and had to hold a candle for a skit…it was quite the experience!

I was able to visit the Luxor hotel the day after my Caesar’s Palace experience and it was amazing. I saw Blue Man Group live in concert and had tender steak dinner. The inside of the Luxor is full of Egyptian-styled décor and it is simply impressive. I heard that all of the high rollers stay at the Luxor! Besides the Luxor, I also stopped by the New-York New-York Hotel and Casino. This place had its own rollercoaster, which raced inside and outside of the structure itself! One of the best parts about Vegas was the shopping. The streets are filled with high-end designers from Chanel to Fendi. Another exciting show that is famous in Vegas is the pirate show, which is put on by the Treasure Island Hotel and Casino. Women sing and dance as actors and actresses are thrown overboard into the water below. Las Vegas is definitely a city that gives you the perfect recipe to have some of the craziest nights in your life. After all…What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas!
